Märkisch Luch is a municipality in the Havelland district in Brandenburg . It is administered by the Nennhausen office.
geography
Märkisch Luch is approx. 24 km east of Rathenow and approx. 60 km west of Berlin . To the east of the community lies the 87 m above sea level. NHN high Heineberg. In the south, Märkisch Luch has shares in the Marzahner Fenn and Dünenheide nature reserve .

history
Barnewitz was first mentioned as Bornewitz in 1289 . The place is of Slavic origin. At the end of the Second World War , the place was badly destroyed. Buschow was first mentioned in a document in 1256. During excavations 1000 year old vases and urns were found in Buschow. Garlitz as the oldest district was first mentioned in a document in 1161. In 1822 the place burned down and was rebuilt. In 1307 Möthlow was first mentioned in a document.
Barnewitz, Buschow, Garlitz and Möthlow belonged to the Westhavelland district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Rathenow district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Havelland district in Brandenburg.
The municipality of Märkisch Luch was created on December 31, 2002 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Barnewitz, Buschow, Garlitz and Möthlow.

The community is located on the L 99 national road between Havelsee and Retzow (on the B 5 ).
