The Nennhausen office is an office formed in 1992 in the Havelland district of the state of Brandenburg , in which 16 communities in the former Rathenow district were initially combined to form an administrative association. The number of municipalities decreased through the amalgamation of municipalities and incorporations, so that the Nennhausen office currently has four municipalities belonging to the office.

Geographical location

The Nennhausen office is located in the south of the Havelland district and borders the city of Rathenow in the west, the Rhinow office and the Friesack office in the north, the city of Nauen in the east and the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in the south . It is located in the Westhavelland Nature Park and is the heart of the bustard protection area of ​​the rare Great Bustard .

On June 30, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his consent to the formation of the Nennhausen office. July 3, 1992 was set as the date of establishment of the office. The office is based in the municipality of Nennhausen and consisted of 16 municipalities of the former Rathenow district :

As part of the municipal reform in Brandenburg, the municipalities of Bamme, Gräningen and Mützlitz were incorporated into the municipality of Nennhausen on October 26, 2003, and the municipalities of Kotzen, Kriele and Landin were merged to form the new municipality of Kotzen. The office currently has four municipalities belonging to the office with 15 districts, which have between approx. 620 and approx. 2100 inhabitants.

Lenke was elected as the new official director on November 15, 2016 by the official committee for a term of office of eight years. She took office on January 1, 2017.
