Günter Harte

Günter Harte (born September 26, 1925 in Hamburg ; † March 10, 2012 in Börnsen ) was a Low German author and narrator.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1944, he did military service in the Navy. After the war, Harte studied German at the University of Hamburg with a focus on the Low German language. After that, he had been a full-time teacher in the Hamburg school service from 1953 and headed the Bergedorfer Brink School from 1964 to 1981 .

From 1960 to 1997 Harte presented his own stories in the daily program Hör mal 'n pray to of the NDR and from 1977 published the column Lütt beten Platt mit'n Abendblatt in the Hamburger Abendblatt , of which a total of 1550 episodes appeared until 2008. In addition, the Germanist wrote 24 books and, together with his wife, Johanna Harte (1923–1991), a Low German dictionary.

From 1979 to 1983 Harte was a board member of the Institute for Low German .

Günter Harte's grave is in the Reinbek cemetery .
