Günter Knoll (born February 5, 1954 in Munich ) is a German director .

Life

On December 1, 1977, together with the actor Thomas Brönner, he founded the Munich “ Hinterhoftheater ” in the backyard of Gabelsbergerstrasse 50 in Munich. In July 1980 he moved the backyard theater to Sudetendeutschestraße 40 in Munich, which he managed until March 31, 2007. He also worked as a copywriter and director in the backyard theater. From 1990 to 1995 he also headed the HAI in Rosenheimer Straße 123 and from 1994 to 2006 the theater in the Schlachthof in the Wirtshaus im Schlachthof in Munich.

His work as a copywriter and director has received several awards, including the Schwabing Art Prize of the City of Munich in 1990 and the star of the week in the evening newspaper . The television comedy "Der schenkte Gaul" with Claudia Schlenger-Meilhamer, for which he wrote the script, was the official festival contribution of ARD to the Golden Rose of Montreux in 1988 .

From 2007 to 2008 he was the initiator and planner of the outdoor heating hall .

He is the head of HINTERHOF.kultur, an event agency, and works as a freelance writer and director.
