Jan Hippold (born September 26, 1974 in Rochlitz ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Saxon state parliament .

education and profession

Jan Hippold attended the Polytechnische Oberschule in Penig from 1981 to 1991 and the grammar school in Limbach-Oberfrohna from 1991 to 1993 , where he graduated from high school in 1993. In 1993 he began studying civil engineering at the State Study Academy in Glauchau , which he graduated with a diploma in 1997. From 1997 to 1998 he was construction manager at a medium-sized building construction company in Penig and from 1998 to 1999 at a medium-sized civil engineering company in Leipzig.

Between 1999 and 2000 he was sales manager at a building materials trade in Penig. From 1999 to 2009 he worked as operations manager in a medium-sized construction company and from 2000 to 2012 as project manager in a medium-sized planning office in Chemnitz. Since 2012, in addition to his work as a member of the state parliament, he has been a small freelancer.

politics

Jan Hippold has been a member of the CDU since 2002 and was a member of the Junge Union until 2009. In the CDU he had been deputy chairman of the city association from 2007 and from 2010 to 2019 chairman of the CDU Limbach-Oberfrohna. He has been an assessor since 2008 and has been the deputy chairman of the CDU district board of the Zwickau district since 2012 . In terms of local politics, he has been a city councilor since 2009. From 2009 to 2019 he was the first deputy mayor of the large district town of Limbach-Oberfrohna.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2009 he was elected to the state parliament as a direct candidate in the constituency of Chemnitzer Land 2 . There he was a member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture and environmental policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in Saxony. He was also the chairman of the Committee on Economy, Labor and Transport.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he was elected constituency member in the constituency of Zwickau 5 with 39.6 percent of the direct votes. He is also the chairman of the working group for economics, labor and transport as well as a member of the committee for economics, labor and transport and a member of the committee for energy, climate protection, the environment and agriculture. He has been the economic policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group since 2019.
