Günter Kozlowski (born January 24, 1953 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2005 to 2010 he was State Secretary in the Ministry for Building and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life and work

After graduating from the Ratsgymnasium Bielefeld in 1971, he did his military service as a temporary soldier and was trained as a reserve officer. From the 1973 winter semester he studied law at Bielefeld University . There he also worked at Hans-Jürgen Papier's chair . In 1980 he passed the second state examination in law.

From 1980 Kozlowski worked for the Detmold district government as a department head for nature conservation. From October 1, 1982 to January 1989, he was city ​​director in Rahden and from January 18, 1989, chief district director of the Gütersloh district .

Kozlowski is married and has two children.

Kozlowski is a member of the CDU. In the state elections in 2005 he was elected to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia through a direct mandate in constituency 94 Gütersloh I - Bielefeld III . On June 6, 2005, he announced that he was giving up his mandate in order to take up the post of State Secretary in the Ministry of Building and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, which was initially led by Oliver Wittke and then by Lutz Lienenkämper . In the state elections in 2010 , he missed the direct mandate and was therefore unable to move into the state parliament again; Constituency representative was George Fort Meier (SPD).

After the Rüttger government was replaced by the Kraft I government in July 2010, Kozlowski resigned from his post as State Secretary.
