Günter Lach
Günter Lach (* 13. July 1954 in Vorsfelde , now Wolfsburg ) is a German politician of the CDU . From 2009 to 2017 he was a member of the German Bundestag .
education and profession
After attending elementary school , Lach completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker at Volkswagen's main factory in Wolfsburg from 1970 . After further training in work organization and work studies , he has been a technical employee in cost development and production planning at the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg since 1980 . He worked there in assembly line production for two years .
politics
Lach has been a member of the CDU since 1994. Since 1996 he has been a member of the Vorsfelde local council and the council of the city of Wolfsburg. In 2001 he became chairman of the Wolfsburg council committee for citizen services, the environment and fire services. Also in 2001, Lach was elected mayor of Vorsfeldes. Günter Lach was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the council of the city of Wolfsburg from 2002 to 2009 and honorary mayor of the city of Wolfsburg from 2006 to 2011. In the federal election on September 27, 2009 Lach won the constituency of Helmstedt - Wolfsburg and was henceforth a member of the German Bundestag . From 2009 he was a member of the Bundestag Interior Committee. In the federal election on September 22, 2013 , he again won his constituency. In the following legislative period he was a member of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure. In the 2017 Bundestag election , he lost the constituency to Falko Mohrs ( SPD ) and was unable to return to parliament via the state list.
Others
Lach has been chairman of the Kyffhäuser Chamber of Commerce in Vorsfelde since 1978 . He is also involved in the Kyffhäuser district association Helmstedt- Wolfsburg, which he has chaired since 1986.
