Günter Neumeister (born October 8, 1951 in Helmsgrün ) is a German agricultural engineer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending the extended high school and graduating from high school with associated professional training, Neumeister worked as a skilled worker and cattle breeder. He then began studying animal production at the University of Rostock , which he completed with an examination as a graduate agricultural engineer. He then worked as an animal production manager and feed economist in an LPG . In 1979 he started working as a research assistant at the Institute for Feed Production in Paulinenaue . In 1983 he was promoted to Dr. agr. PhD.

Günter Neumeister is married and has two children.

Neumeister, who was initially independent, joined the SDP during the political change in the GDR . Since January 1990 he has been a member of the Brandenburg State Party Council and the Federal Party Council of Social Democrats. From March to October 1990 he was a member of the first freely elected GDR People's Chamber . In 1990 he was elected to the Brandenburg state parliament, to which he was a member until 1994. Here he was a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Transport. In parliament he represented the constituency of Nauen I. Today (2008) he is a member of the district council of the Havelland district .
