Günter Prebusch (born August 10, 1939 ) is a former German football player who was active from 1959 to 1968 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , for Lokomotive Stendal .

Athletic career

Until 1957 Günter Prebusch played in Salzwedel in the fifth class district class Magdeburg . He then moved to the 1958 season (calendar year season) to the relegated league BSG Lok Stendal, where he contributed to the immediate resurgence in the second-rate GDR league with 19 point games. In the league season in 1959 he immediately had a regular place with his 26 appearances in all 26 league games as a right defender. The Stendal did not manage to stay up and continued to commute regularly from season to season between the Oberliga and GDR league until 1963, so that Prebusch had to play second class for two seasons. It was not until the 1963/64 season (return to the autumn-spring rhythm since 1961) that the BSG locomotive was able to establish itself in the top league for a long time. In 1966, the team reached the final of the GDR soccer cup . In the final against BSG Chemie Leipzig , which the Stendal team lost 0-1, Prebusch was used as a left-back in his current regular position. He remained a regular at the BSG Lok until 1968, it was his last league year. After the 1967/68 season, Lok Stendal had to relegate from the top division and did not make it back to the top division in 1968/69. In the GDR league season 1968/69 Prebusch was only used in eleven point games, then he ended his career in higher-class football. Until 1971 he was active as a player-coach for the third-rate district division Motor Rathenow .
