Günter Rahm (born October 2, 1934 in Chemnitz ) is a former German football player. For SC Motor Jena he played in the GDR upper league and for TSV 1860 Munich in the Bundesliga . He played an international match with the B national team of the GDR .

Athletic career

Until 1953 Günter Rahm played in the youth division of the company sports association (BSG) Empor Apolda . For the 1953/54 season he moved to BSG Motor Jena , which had previously been relegated from the major league to the second-rate GDR league . With Motor Jena, promoted to the sports club during the 1954/55 season, Rahm played in the GDR league until the 1956 season (change to the calendar year rhythm), where he played 60 times in the 78 championship games and scored 14 goals . In 1956, SC Motor managed to return to the league with Rahm, and in the same year Rahm played an international match with the B national team. In the two league seasons in 1957 and 1958, he maintained his regular place at SC Motor, was only absent in one league game in 1957 and played all 26 league games in 1958. He was regularly used as a right runner . After 129 championship games and 17 goals, Günter Rahm went to West Germany after the 1958 season and registered with TSV 1860 Munich.

Since it was an unauthorized change of club, Rahm was suspended for one year. From January 1960 he played with TSV 1860 in the Oberliga Süd , at that time one of the top five leagues of the DFB . In 1962/63 he was with the Munich south champions, as a midfielder with 28 appearances in 30 played point games share. The TSV had thus qualified for the final round of the German championship and, as second in group 2, narrowly missed the final. Of the six group games, Rahm played five games.

As southern champions, TSV had also qualified for the first season of the newly created Bundesliga 1963/64. Rahm lost his regular place last year, also due to an injury, and was only used once on matchday 14 as a defender. In 1964 he became a sports disabled person and was no longer part of the Bundesliga squad, but became a coach of the 1860 amateurs and a member of the club's board.
