Günter Schrempp

Günter Schrempp (born June 8, 1942 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and politics

From 1952 to 1964 Schrempp attended the Rotteck-Gymnasium in Freiburg, then he studied civil engineering in Karlsruhe and then worked in the public service of the state of Baden-Württemberg as a senior building officer.

From 1973 to 1980 Schrempp was a member of the municipal council of Freiburg.

For the state election in 1980 Schrempp was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for the first time , in which he represented the constituency of Freiburg II (West) . Schrempp always won the direct mandate of the constituency, something that no other SPD applicant in the southern part of the country achieved in 1980, 1984 and 1988. In 1996 he was not re-elected. After leaving the state parliament, Schrempp was managing director of the Internet provider ROL3 , where debis- a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG - was a minority shareholder. Since 2000 he has worked as a management consultant, primarily for the construction and transport sectors in southern Germany and Switzerland, and later as an independent project manager for the expansion of Frankfurt Airport.

In February 1986 Schrempp was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . On June 24, 1996, he was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class by Federal President Roman Herzog .

Schrempp was state chairman in Baden-Württemberg and vice-president of the German Tenants' Association .

Günter Schrempp is the older brother of industrial manager Jürgen Schrempp (* 1944) and Wolfgang Schrempp (* 1950), who was responsible for the Australia region at Daimler AG until 2010 .

Schrempp was married to Gerlinde Schrempp (* 1946). According to his own information, he has been married to Ulrike V. Schrempp since 2011. He is a multiple father and grandfather.

Schrempp has been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1964. Nordmark (Rostock) food. For over 25 years he was President of the Gentlemen's Council of the Breisgauer Narrenzunft (BNZ) and has been an active member of the Freiburg Fools' Guild for a long time.
