Günter Thorhauer
Günter Thorhauer (born November 8, 1931 in Magdeburg ; † April 27, 2007 there ) was a German football player who was used in the GDR national team's first international match .
Athletic career
Thorhauer's football career in high-performance sport was short-lived. He first played in the youth teams of SG Eintracht Sudenburg, which later became part of the Stahl Magdeburg company sports club and from which, after further renaming in December 1965, the 1. FC Magdeburg emerged. After 21 games for BSG Stahl Magdeburg, renamed BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg on May 21, 1952, in the 1951/52 season in the second-rate GDR league , in which he scored 12 goals, he was delegated to the Sports Association of the German People's Police in Dresden .
Even before he had played a game for his new community, he was called up on September 21, 1952 in the GDR national team, which played its first official international match against Poland in Warsaw . He was used as a right winger and was after Halle's Günter Imhof (18) the second youngest player in the team, which was clearly defeated 0: 3. This was his only international match.
In Dresden Thorhauer played between September 28, 1952 and March 1, 1953 a total of 15 games in the league, in which he scored three goals. Then he was delegated back to BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg, where he was used again in the GDR league that same season, on April 19, 1953. By 1957 he came to a total of 43 missions in the GDR league for Magdeburg, in which he scored 15 goals. After the founding of SC Aufbau Magdeburg, he stormed into its reserve for a short time and then played for a few years in the Magdeburg district class at his home club BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg, today's Magdeburger SV 90 Preussen .
