Günter Unger (music manager)

Günter Unger (born April 7, 1958 in Ried im Innkreis ) is an Austrian music manager and entrepreneur.

Life

Unger grew up in the town where he was born. After attending primary and commercial school in his hometown, he completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk at Musikhaus Maurus.

His professional career began in 1979 in sales at WEA Records . In his 33-year major label career, he went through further positions as sales manager, sales manager, A&R and most recently sales director at Warner Music Group Austria.

In 2009 he went into business for himself and founded Entertainment Quarter GmbH, an agency for artists that covers all areas of labeling, promotion, management, publishing and booking. He worked with artists such as Al Bano , Olivia Newton-John , Hubertus von Hohenlohe , Eric Papilaya and Céline Roscheck . In 2011 he initiated together with Matthias Euler-Rolle "Austria Deluxe TV", a lifestyle format on Austria 9 .

Unger has been the manager of Parov Stelar since 2014 and, with his EQ GmbH, is also responsible for Etage Noir Recordings , which was founded in 2004 by the Upper Austrian musician and producer Marcus Füreder , with whom he has since published as Parov Stelar. They organized concerts around the world and received awards such as B. Double platinum for the single All Night in Italy.

Another highlight in Günter Unger's creation is No. 1 with the song The Sun by Parov Stelar in the US iTunes Electronic Charts.

Unger lives in Palma de Mallorca and Aurolzmünster , is married and has a daughter.
