Günther Freisleben

Günther Freisleben (born January 11, 1957 ) is a German police officer and was police chief of Karlsruhe from 2014 to 2017 .

Life

Günther Freisleben joined the Baden-Württemberg police in 1976 . In 1987 he was promoted to the higher service , in 1994 to the higher service . In 1994 he was head of department Ia at the Ludwigsburg police department . In 1995 he became Head of the Division I to police headquarters Schwäbisch Hall . From 1997 to 2000 he was a consultant in Department 33 at the Ministry of the Interior in Baden-Württemberg. Then he returned to the Schwäbisch Hall Police Department and headed the command and task force there. In 2001 he moved to the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy as head of the Wertheim branch .

In 2004 he was seconded to the Western Border Guard Presidium in order to be able to take part in the EU police mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina as Senior Advisor to the European Union Police Mission .

In 2006 he became head of the Schwäbisch Hall Police Department.

From 2012 he was Deputy Head Executive Division of the International Police Mission in Kosovo . For this purpose he was seconded to the responsible federal police headquarters.

From 2014 Günther Freisleben was police chief in Karlsruhe.

Since December 2017 he has been head of the EU contingent in Israel. His successor at the Karlsruhe police headquarters was Caren Denner .
