Günther Haenisch

Günther Haenisch (born March 30, 1907 in Hamburg ; † April 23, 2001 there ) was a German surgeon and publicist .

Life

Haenisch was born in 1907 as the first of three children of the Barmbeck radiologist Fedor Haenisch and his wife Gertrud geb. Stapenhorst was born. In 1925 he made his Abitur at the Johanneum in Hamburg, then he studied medicine at the universities of Freiburg, Munich and Hamburg. In December 1930 he passed the state examination at the University of Hamburg . After a license to practice medicine (1932) and a doctorate as a Dr. med. (1934) Haenisch worked as a ship's doctor from 1936 to 1937 , then from 1939 to 1945 as a medical officer and surgeon in the field army, from 1945 to 1947 as a prisoner of war.

Haenisch became a specialist in surgery in 1947 and a specialist in urology in 1955. From 1960 until his retirement he was chief physician of the 1st surgical department of the General Hospital Barmbek.

Haenisch was active in professional politics for many years, from 1953 to 1961 he was a member of the board of the Hamburg State Association of the Marburger Bund (MB), from 1955 to 1961 he was a member of the national board of MB and its representative on the board of the German Medical Association . In 1971 he chaired the 108th meeting of the Association of Northwest German Surgeons .

Haenisch was editor of the "Hamburger Ärzteblatt" and the body of the chief physician association "Doctor and Hospital".
