Günther Roestel , also Röstel (born May 12, 1908 in Berlin , † July 1, 1986 in Kiel ) was a German lawyer.

Life

After studying law , Roestel completed his legal clerkship from 1931 to 1933 at the district welfare office in Berlin-Neukölln . Roestel, who joined the NSDAP on May 1, 1933 and also became a member of the NSV , was employed in the Inner Mission in the field of hikers and "anti-social welfare". From 1935 to 1936, he worked in Berlin for the welfare of hikers, drinkers and prisoners as well as hospital management in the main office for public welfare of the party leadership of the NSDAP .

From the beginning of August 1936, after it was brought into line , Roestel was a consultant and also managing director at the German Association for Public and Private Welfare . The editor of the news service of the German Association had been the editor since the June issue . Due to conflicts with the chairman of the German Association Hermann Althaus and with other Nazi institutions, Roestel left the German Association as managing director in 1943; Heinrich Webler was his successor as managing director .

Roestel received his doctorate from the University of Frankfurt in 1939 with the dissertation "The right of freedom of movement" to become a Dr. jur. and in addition to his office as managing director of the German Association from 1939 as a social officer for works welfare at the marine shipyard in Kiel. At the same time, he was a faculty assistant in the law and political science faculty of the University of Kiel in the summer semester of 1941 .

After his dismissal as managing director at the German Association, Roestel worked from February 1943 until the end of the war in the rank of government councilor as a department head at the naval, weapons and equipment company in Stettin .

After the end of the Second World War , Roestel worked as a youth judge at the Kiel District Court . Roestel was appointed to the District Court Council in 1948 and was Vice President at the District Court of Kiel from 1969 to 1973.
