Günther Ziegler (politician)

Günther Ziegler (born February 9, 1892 in German Lissa near Breslau , † after 1944) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending high school in Karlsruhe , Ziegler studied general mechanical engineering from 1911 to 1912 and from 1913 to 1914 at the Technical University in Karlsruhe . In between he was a member of the Luftschiffer Battalion I in Berlin for a year from 1912 to 1913 . He also worked practically for a year in various factories and workshops in Germany.

After Ziegler had passed the pilot's exam in autumn 1913 , he took part in the First World War as pilot and reserve officer with the air force from 1914 to 1918 , from 1917 as leader of the single-seater squadron 7. During the war, Ziegler was awarded the Iron Cross  I. and II class and awarded the honor cup for the winner in the aerial combat .

From 1919 to 1921 Ziegler studied law and political science at the University of Freiburg . In November 1921 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. In the first half of 1922 he worked as an apprentice at the Rheinische Kreditbank in Gernsbach in the Murgtal. He then earned his living as a clerk from July 1, 1922 to June 30, 1924 . He then took on a position as a sales representative at the Portland cement factory Dyckerhoff & Söhne GmbH Amöneburg near Biebrich am Rhein. From July 1, 1924 to the end of 1926, Ziegler was an authorized signatory at Exportflug GmbH in Berlin, then from February 1, 1927 to March 31, 1930, a member of the board of directors of the Deutsche Verkehrsfliegerschule GmbH in Berlin. In 1930/1931 he worked as a sales manager for Argus-Motoren GmbH in Berlin. From March 1, 1933, Ziegler also became a managing board member of the Deutsche Verkehrsfliegerschule GmbH in Berlin.

Around 1928 Ziegler became a member of the NSDAP and its party army, the SA . In the party he initially took on various functionaries. In 1932, for example, he was entrusted with the post of deputy corps commander in the National Socialist Air Corps . From July to November 1932 and from March to November 1933 Ziegler sat as a member of the NSDAP in the Reichstag , in which he represented constituency 28 (Dresden-Bautzen).

On July 20, 1945, Ziegler was captured by Soviet troops.
