GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, as part of GE Enterprise Solutions , is a global supplier of hardware and software for automation and embedded computing. GE Fanuc covers the areas of automation , embedded systems and CNC . Until October 2007, the company operated under the names GE Fanuc Automation , GE Fanuc Embedded Systems and GE Fanuc CNC .

GE Fanuc acquires VMIC from Huntsville (AL) in 2001. Huntsville becomes the headquarters of GE Fanuc Embedded Systems. The acquisition was completed on September 21, 2001. Intellution was acquired in November 2002, RAMiX (for the embedded area) in March 2003 and Mountain System in June 2003. The name GE Fanuc Embedded Systems is first mentioned in September 2005 with the acquisition of DNA Computing. Condor Engineering joined Embedded Systems in February 2006. In June 2006, SBS Technologies, with locations in the USA and Germany, was bought by GE and incorporated into Embedded Systems. In November of the same year, the British company Radstone Technology was acquired and taken over in the same area.

resolution

Following a notification from the New York Stock Exchange on August 17, 2009, GE and FANUC have agreed to dissolve the joint venture. FANUC takes over the CNC business worldwide while GE Software and Embedded Systems will continue to operate under the name GE Intelligent Platforms . The separation should be completed by the end of 2009; the separation agreement was signed on December 11, 2009.
