The GHD GesundHeits GmbH Germany (also called GHD) - after self-presentation - the largest ambulatory health, therapy and service company in Germany. The GHD group of companies supplies patients nationwide with aids , rehabilitation and pharmaceuticals and combines production, logistics and product-related services under one roof. GHD has around 3,000 employees for more than 1 million patients and around 18,000 institutional customers (e.g. health insurance companies , clinics ).

The founder was the entrepreneur Andreas Rudolph . The company is based in Ahrensburg in Schleswig-Holstein .

The GHD is a member of BVMed - Bundesverband Medizintechnologie eV , which as a trade association represents around 220 industrial and trading companies in the medical technology sector. Christiane Döring, managing director of GHD, is a board member of BVMed.

history

In 1992, the company's founder, Andreas Rudolph, introduced the concept of "bringing care services to the patient at home", which was new on the German health market at the time. GHD has been active throughout Germany since 1998. The parenteral nutrition therapy field has been part of the offer since 2002 . Outpatient case management was introduced in 2004. Case managers organize the transition between inpatient and outpatient therapy. In this context, discharge management is also used.

In 2008, GHD acquired the ostomy product manufacturer FOR LIFE ( Berlin ). Over the years, the group of companies is expanded to include the logistics service providers sangro and DVG, as well as manufacturing companies for infusion solutions , which now operate under the name GHD Compounding.

In 2011, GHD took over a Leipzig manufacturing company. In 2012, GHD acquired the exclusive German distribution rights for nutritional products from Abbott and Nestlé Healthcare Nutrition . In 2014 Nordic Capital took over the majority stake in GHD GesundHeits GmbH Germany. In 2015, GHD took over OTB (Berlin) and Rehability in Heidelberg, as well as the exclusive distribution of wound products from Acelity .

Advisory Board

The advisory board of the GHD group of companies was founded in January 2009 in order to include external expert knowledge in strategic topics. The advisory board has appointed Alexandra Dinges-Dierig , a former member of the German Bundestag, as chair. Further members are Thomas Stritzl , former member of the German Bundestag, Jochem Schulz, former board member of BKK Berlin and Horst Baltzer, former regional director HH of AOK Rheinland / Hamburg .
