Gašper Berlot (born August 6, 1990 in Titovo Velenje ) is a Slovenian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Berlot made his international debut at FIS races in 2005. At the 2007 Junior World Championships in Tarvisio , he reached tenth place with the team. In the sprint he came in 22nd and in the Gundersen in 28th place. A year later at the Junior World Championships in Zakopane he achieved 15th place in Gundersen and 21st place in sprint. On January 10th, 2009 he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in Val di Fiemme . He managed to win World Cup points already in the second World Cup race with place 25. He finished the 2008/09 season in 68th place overall. At the Junior World Championships in 2009 in Štrbské Pleso , he just missed the medal ranks with fourth place in the Gundersen over 5 km. In the Gundersen over 10 km he finished 19th and with the team he reached twelfth place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec , he could not achieve any top placements. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he achieved 37th place in the individual on the normal as well as on the large hill. He finished the 2009/10 season with two World Cup points in 66th place in the overall World Cup ranking.

After good results in the Summer Grand Prix 2010, Berlot started the 2010/11 season with points in Kuusamo and Lillehammer . After that, it was difficult for him to build on these results. Therefore, he switched to the Continental Cup in February 2011. He was third on the podium at his second start in Eisenerz . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , he was again unable to place in the front of the field. At the Summer Grand Prix 2011, he surprisingly managed to finish fourth in Oberwiesenthal, narrowly missing out on the podium. He repeated this success a year later and was even able to improve it again and came third in 2012. In the World Cup he lagged behind the world's best and was not able to place in the top 20 in any race.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he reached ranks 40 and 44 in the individual disciplines and ninth in the team competition. He finished the 2012/13 season in 65th place in the overall World Cup ranking.
