Gabriel Larraín Valdivieso

Gabriel Larraín Valdivieso (born January 26, 1925 in Santiago de Chile , † December 20, 2008 ) was auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Santiago de Chile .

Life

Gabriel Larraín Valdivieso was ordained a priest on December 23, 1950 . He was an advisor to the Christian Youth Workers ( Juventud Obrera Católica - JOC) at the diocesan and national level. From 1958 to 1961 he was Regens of the seminary in Santiago, then Vicar General of the Archdiocese. In 1962 he became head of the mission work in the Archdiocese of Santiago.

In 1966 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed titular bishop of Theudalis and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Santiago de Chile. He was ordained episcopal on November 3, 1966, by the Archbishop of Santiago, Cardinal Raúl Silva Henríquez SDB ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Puerto Montt , Alberto Rencoret Donoso , and the Auxiliary Bishop in Talca , Enrique Alvear Urrutia .

His resignation as auxiliary bishop was in 1968, his resignation as titular bishop was 1975 by Pope Paul VI. granted.

For many years he was a pastor at the Polytechnic Colegio Politécnico San Esteban Mártir in Lo Barnechea , which was founded in 1988 by Father Luis Antonio Díaz.
