Gabriel Zufferey

Gabriel Zufferey (* 1984 in Geneva ) is a Swiss jazz pianist .

Zufferey comes from a family of musicians; At the age of 14 he participated in the Concours international de Piano Jazz Martial Solal in order to receive the special jury prize at the piano solo competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival the following year . In 2004 he presented his debut album Après l'orage , on which Daniel Humair and Sébastien Boisseau participated. He played with Guillaume Perret in the group No Square , with which he toured internationally several times. In 2009/10 he was in New York City, and discovered Dave Liebman , Ravi Coltrane , Ahmad Jamal , Jeff Tain Watts and Mike Stern for themselves . After his return to Switzerland, the live album Hear & Know was created in 2010 with Ramón López , Samuel Blaser and Patrice Moret ; In 2011 he recorded the solo album Contemplation . He is also a member of the Samuel Huguenin Symbolic Quartet , which produced albums for Unit Records .
