Samuel Blaser (born July 20, 1981 in La Chaux-de-Fonds ) is a Swiss trombonist and arranger .

Live and act

Blaser lived in New York for several years before settling in Berlin. He is increasingly working in his own projects, including Consort in Motion , a mixture of jazz improvisation, renaissance and baroque music, in a trio with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Paul Motian . After his debut album 7th Heaven (2008) with HatHut Records , other albums followed, such as Boundless (2011) and At the Sea (2012), on which Marc Ducret , Bänz Oester and Gerald Cleaver participated. He also worked with Pierre Favre ( Vol à voile , Intakt Records ), with François Houle ( Genera , 2012) and in the Consort in Motion Quintet with Drew Gress , Joachim Badenhorst , Russ Lossing and Gerry Hemingway . In the field of jazz, Blaser participated in 19 recording sessions between 2000 and 2012.
