Thomas Morgan (musician)

Thomas Morgan (born August 14, 1981 in Hayward , California ) is an American jazz musician ( double bass , cello ) of the Modern Creative .

Live and act

Morgan began playing the cello at the age of seven before switching to the double bass at the age of 14. In 2003 he received his Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music , where he studied with Harvie Swartz and Garry Dial ; he also had lessons from Ray Brown and Peter Herbert . Morgan has worked with David Binney , Steve Coleman , Joey Baron , Josh Roseman , Brad Shepik , Steve Cardenas , Timuçin Şahin , Kenny Wollesen , Gerald Cleaver , Adam Rogers and Kenny Werner throughout his career . He is u. a. heard on recordings by Jakob Bro , Dan Tepfer , Jim Black , John Abercrombie , Masabumi Kikuchi , Alexandra Grimal , Giovanni Guidi and the Sylvie-Courvoisier - Mark-Feldman Quartet.
