style

During his years in the jazz-rock fusion band Lost Tribe, Rogers played a very funky rock style. Since breaking with the band, he has been playing his Gibson ES-335 guitar with a warm but sharp sound in the style of traditional “acoustic jazz” by Pat Martino , George Benson or Wes Montgomery , the three guitarists who made him play in his early years most influenced. He is known for high speed with flawless articulation. All About Jazz ’s Phil DiPietro described Rogers as a mind-boggling linear improviser .

He also loves challenges that come from switching out older vintage guitars and amps. He has collections of over twenty different makes.
