Gabriele (Gabi) Dobusch (born July 25, 1958 in Saarbrücken ) is a German SPD politician . She is a member of the Hamburg citizenship and former state chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP) in Hamburg.

Life and work

Gabi Dobusch grew up in Saarland and passed the Franco-German Abitur there in 1977 . She then went to London for 1 year. She first studied theater studies and sociology in Erlangen-Nürnberg and from 1982 in Hamburg German studies with a focus on media and sociology. This was followed by activities as a research assistant at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (Hamburg), at the Media Center of the University of Hamburg, as well as teaching assignments. She was also a women's representative and works council member as well as a member of the ver.di union (formerly: IG Medien ). Since 1997 she has been working as a consultant for network projects at the Office for Addiction Prevention or Sucht.Hamburg gGmbH of the Hamburgische Landesstelle für Suchtfragen e. V.

Social Democratic Party of Germany

Gabi Dobusch joined the SPD in 2000. She is a member of the SPD district (local association) Ottensen, which is part of the Hamburg SPD district association (sub-district) Altona. Within the SPD, she was state chairman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP) in Hamburg until spring 2014. Gabi Dobusch has been the representative of the federal states in the gender equality policy commission of the SPD party executive since 2010.

In February 2008, she was in the state election on the national list to move into the Hamburg parliament as deputies. Dobusch became the specialist spokesperson for equality, lesbians and gays and thus the successor to Lutz Johannsen, who was no longer running for election . In parliament, she was also a member of the European Committee, the Culture, Creative Industries and Tourism Committee as well as the Social and Equal Opportunities Committee. Dobusch belonged to the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group in the 19th electoral term. During this time she became more and more involved in the Altona constituency. Dobusch was particularly involved in saving the Altona Museum from the intention of the black-green Senate to close it.

In the 2011 state election, Dobusch ran for first place on the SPD's Altona constituency list and was re-elected to the state with a large majority. In the 20th electoral term she was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, where she was responsible for the areas of culture, Europe, equality and schools. She was the cultural policy spokeswoman for her parliamentary group and secretary of the culture committee. In addition, she was a member of the Legal and Equal Opportunities Committee, the Elbphilharmonie investigative committee and, as a deputy member, of the Citizenship Committee for Europe and International Affairs.


21st electoral term of the Hamburg Parliament

Gabi Dobusch ran again at number 1 on the Altona constituency list of the SPD and was again elected to the citizenry. She is currently a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee and spokeswoman for her group's equal opportunities policy. Gabi Dobusch is the chairman of the culture committee in this legislative period, was initially a member of the European committee and is also a deputy member of the science and equality committee and the committee for public companies.

In the 22nd electoral term she is again a member of the citizenship.
