Gabriele Hoffmann (writer)

Gabriele Hoffmann (* 19th November 1942 in Berlin as Christine Gabriele Kruger ) is a German historian , journalist and writer .

Life

She studied history , literary studies and philosophy , received her doctorate in contemporary history under Fritz Fischer at the University of Hamburg in 1970, worked for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk , Radio Bremen and Stern and lives in Bremen . She is a member of the board of the Bremen Historical Society .

Her biography Heinrich Böll was included in the selection list for the German Youth Book Prize in 1978 . For “Constantia von Cosel and August the Strong” she received the 2nd historical non-fiction book prize at Schloss Burg, and the German Prize for Monument Protection in the journalism category for a radio feature on archeology in Germany .
