Galatella cretica is a plant from the genus Galatella in the family of Compositae (Asteraceae).

features

Galatella cretica is a perennial stem hemicryptophyte that reaches heights of 15 to 40 centimeters. The stem is spider-weby and flaky. The leaves are sessile, linear-lanceolate, single-nerved, stiff, prickly and not fleshy. The heads are arranged in pairs or too few. Ray florets are absent. The inner bracts are pointed to pointed.

The flowering period extends from October to December, rarely until January.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

Galatella cretica occurs in the south-east of the Kardägäis . Their distribution area includes Turkey, Crete and the Aegean Sea. The species grows in crevices and phrygana .

Taxonomy

Synonyms for Galatella cretica Gand. are Aster creticus (Gand.) Rech. f. and Crinitaria cretica (Gand.) Soják .
