Galaxy Angel is a media franchise of Broccoli , to which a variety of manga series, anime series and video games appeared from 2001 to 2009 . The franchise consists of the original Galaxy Angel through 2006 and then its sequel Galaxy Angel II ( Galaxy Angel Rune ). Ryō Mizuno played a key role in the development of the franchise .

The work can be classified into the genre of science fiction and comedy .

Galaxy angels work for a humanitarian society. In reality, they are extraterrestrial humanoids with special powers that protect the world from the dangers of outer space. Your job is to find the so-called lost technology and give it back to people. Only then can they return home to their planet. Your enemies are the armies of Eonia and the Hellhounds. The Galaxy Angels are stationed on two spaceships: the Angel Frame and the Galaxy Angel II .

Characters

Milfeulle Sakuraba ( ミ ル フ ィ ー ユ ・ 桜 葉 , Mirufīyu Sakuraba )
Milfeulle Sakuraba is 17 years old, the main character and leader of the Galaxy Angels. The pink-haired woman is very ambitious, sometimes stubborn and is characterized by her above-average luck. In the manga Galaxy Angel II , she is given the task of guarding the gate between the worlds.
Her little sister is called Apricot Sakuraba ( ア プ リ コ ッ ト ・ 桜 葉 ) and becomes the first member of the Rune Angels, as well as the protagonist of the successor series Galaxy Angel II .
Ranpha Franboise ( 蘭花 ・ フ ラ ン ボ ワ ー ズ , Ranfa Furanbowāzu )
Ranpha is a blonde young woman who is both Milfeulles friend and rival. Her hobby is chasing after men.
Mint Blancmanche ( ミ ン ト ・ ブ ラ マ ン シ ュ , Buranmanshe Minto )
Mint Blancmanche is a rather calm, but also a little snobbish 16-year-old girl. She likes to run around in animal costumes, even though she herself got rabbit ears through a genetic mutation . She is Mifeulle Sakuraba's right hand man. Despite her age, she looks like a child from the outside.
Forte studs ( フ ォ ル テ ・ シ ュ ト ー レ ン , Forte Shutōren )
She was the oldest member of the Angels. She is a hard-hearted, yet fair woman who made it to lieutenant. She later becomes an enemy of the Galaxy Angels by founding the Rune Angels .
Vanilla H ( ヴ ァ ニ ラ ・ H , Vanira H )
Vanilla H (spoken as asch in French ) She is one of the youngest members at just 13 years old. For her age, however, she is very mature and intelligent. Therefore she is also used as a technician. She has light green hair.
Chitose Karasuma ( 烏丸 ち と せ , Karasuma Chitose )
She is the newest member of the group.
Nano Nano Pudding ( ナ ノ ナ ノ ・ プ デ ィ ン グ , Nano Nano Pudingu )
Besides Natsume Izayoi, she is the third member of the Rune Angels. She is an evil clone of Vanilla H who fights for the Rune Angels. It differs from Vanilla H mainly in its ears
Lily C. Sherbet ( リ リ ィ ・ C ・ シ ャ ー ベ ッ ト , Riri C Shābetto )
She runs the Rune Angels with Forte Stollen. She is very loyal and would sacrifice herself for Forte Stollen. She is 17 years old.
Anise Azeat ( ア ニ ス ・ ア ジ ー ト , Anisu Ajīto )
Anise Azeat only appears in the last manga and is also a member of the Rune Angels. She's a tomboy , but she can be nice too. War is her hobby.

Anime

Galaxy Angel

Four series on Galaxy Angel were created under Studio Madhouse . The first two were directed by Morio Asaka and Yoshimitsu Ōhashi, and then Shigehito Takayanagi . The character design comes from Mariko Fujita, based on the designs by Kanan. Kazuhiro Takahashi was the artistic director.

The first series Galaxy Angel with 24 episodes was broadcast from April 7, 2001 to September 29, 2001 by the Japanese broadcaster Animax . On the DVD and VHS releases, two more episodes followed in 2002 - a total of 26 episodes.

Galaxy Angel Z with 9 episodes of two chapters each was broadcast from February 3 to March 31, 2002, with the music video DVD Galaxy Angel: Music Collection a further episode was included.

The next series consisted of two halves of 13 episodes each and again two chapters each (except for the last episode which was a chapter): Galaxy Angel A from October 6th to December 29th, 2002 and Galaxy Angel AA from January 5th to aired March 30, 2003. The Galaxy Angel AA limited box set included two more episodes. In addition, the special Galaxy Angel S appeared with another episode in two chapters. In total there were 29 episodes or 55 chapters of this part.

The last series Galaxy Angel X with 13 episodes of two chapters each came from July 7 to September 29, 2004 on Japanese television.

From April 2 to June 25, 2012, Tokyo MX broadcast selected chapters as Galaxy Angel a la carte . From August 2012 to April 2013, Blu-ray boxes for each series were released every two months.

Animax also aired the anime in South Korea, Southeast Asia, India and Latin America, with the series translated into English, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and Chinese. In the Philippines, the anime was broadcast by Animex, Hero TV and QTV Channel 11.

Galaxy angel rune

G alaxy Angel II was developed by Studio Satelight as Galaxy Angel Rune adapted. Directed by Seiji Kishi and the character design is by Kenji Shinohara based on Kanan's template. The 13 episodes were first broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 2 to December 25, 2006 after midnight and thus on the previous television day , as well as on TV Aichi , TVQ Kyūshū , TV Osaka , AT-X , TV Setouchi , with an offset of up to two weeks . TV Hokkaidō and Sendai Hōsō . A Blu-ray box was released in June 2013.

The music for the series was composed by Hikaru Nanase . The Lantis company took over the production . The first series used Galaxy Bang! Bang! ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー ★ Bang! Bang!) And in the credits Horoscope Rhapsody ( ホ ロ ス コ ー プ ・ ラ プ ソ デ ィ ) come from Angel-tai, d. H. the five or from season 4 six female voice actors among their roles.

Galaxy Angel Z used Yumemitai Angel-tai ( 夢見 た い ★ ANGEL 隊 ) in the opening credits and Happy Question ( は っ ぴ ぃ ・ く え す ち ょ ん ) from Angel-tai in the credits . In episode 4, there was also the piece Tatakae Boku no ×phiauchi ( た た か え ぼ く ら の ×∗imi ) sung by Takayuki Miyauchi .

In Galaxy Angel Rune the opening title was Uchū Koi wa Rurun Rune ( 宇宙 で 恋 は ☆ る る ん ル ー ン ) sung by Rune Angel-tai, d. H. the voice actors Yūna Inamura, Satomi Hanamura, Satomi Akesaka, Aya Hirano and Erina Nakayama under their role names. Happy Flight by Maho Tomita was used in the credits .

Manga

Galaxy Angel

From April 27, 2001 to March 27, 2004 the manga Galaxy Angel appeared in the magazine Dragon Junior (issues 2001/5 to 2003/4) and after its discontinuation in the magazine Dragon Age (issues 5/2003 to 6/2004) of the publishing house Fujimi Shobo . The drawings are from Kanan. The series was later published in five anthologies ( Tankōbon ). In December 2004 a new edition ( shinsōban ) was published.

The sequel Galaxy Angel 2nd ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー エ ン ジ ェ ル 2nd ) was published in the magazine Comic Rush from July 26, 2004 (issue 8/2004) to September 26, 2005 (issue 10/2005) by Jive. The chapters have also been summarized in three edited volumes. The offshoot Galaxy Angel 2nd: Tenshi Zukan ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー エ ン ジ ェ ル 天使 図 鑑 ) appeared in the magazine Kikan Di Gi Charat between October 2004 (Vol. 1) and October 2005 (Vol. 7 ), the anthology of which was also titled as Volume 2.5 of Galaxy Angel 2nd .

From October to December 2006, the eight volumes of both series were reissued in a large-format ( DIN A6 , instead of JIS B5 ) fan edition in five volumes.

Galaxy Angel II

Galaxy Angel 3rd ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー エ ン ジ ェ ル 3rd ) appeared in Broccoli's magazine Comic Di Gi Charat from Vol. 7 on October 10, 2005, which was later renamed Comi Digi and shortly afterwards Comi Digi + until it was discontinued on August 21, 2008. The chapters have also been grouped into six edited volumes.

Galaxy Angel II: Angel Haneyasume ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー エ ン ジ ェ ル II 天使 の 羽 根 休 め ) ran in Gakushū Kenkyūsha's (Gakken) Megami Magazine from November 30, 2006 (1/2007 issue) to January 30, 2009 (3/2009 issue), and later in three edited volumes.

Computer games

The games consist of two trilogies, the mechanics of which are divided into a Ren'ai adventure part and a strategy part with space battles, both of which alternate.

Galaxy Angel

The game Galaxy Angel was released in Japan on August 23, 2002 for Windows , January 23, 2003 for Xbox , and April 17, 2003 for the Playstation 2 by Broccoli. Galaxy Angel: Moonlit Lovers for Windows followed on August 22, 2003 and for Playstation 2 on February 26, 2004. The third game, Galaxy Angel: Eternal Lovers , was released on August 20, 2004 for Windows and on February 24, 2005 for Playstation 2 .

All three games were also included in the Eternal Package for Galaxy Angel: Eternal Lovers for the PS2, released on February 24, 2005 , and in the Galaxy Angel Rune Box for the PS2, released on November 22, 2006 , which also contained the Galaxy Angel II .

In addition, the mini game collection Galaxy Angel Ex for Windows appeared on July 29, 2005 .

Galaxy Angel II

The first game Galaxy Angel II: Zettai Ryōiki no Tobira (GALAXY ANGEL II  絶 対 領域 の 扉 ) was released on June 22, 2006, the second part, Galaxy Angel II: Mugen Keirō no Kagi (GALAXY ANGEL II  無限 回廊 の 鍵 ), on October 18, 2007, and the third part, Galaxy Angel II: Eigō Kaiki no Toki (GALAXY ANGEL II  永劫 回 帰 の 刻 ), on March 12, 2009, each for the Playstation 2.

The first part was also included on the Galaxy Angel Rune Box on November 22, 2006, along with the complete first trilogy . In addition, the first part received a re-release on July 31, 2008 and the second part on December 11, 2008. Novels

From Ryō Mizuno comes the novel Galaxy Angel from November 20, 2002 with illustrations by Jūsensha Kōbō. Megumi Tsuge wrote Galaxy Angel Ex from July 1, 2003 with Mizuno serving as editor. Here, too, the drawings come from Jūsensha Kōbō.

Other novels are by Sumire Nanohana, also with Mizuno as editor. Galaxy Angel: Karasume Chitose no Angel-tai Gyōmu Geppō ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー エ ン ジ ェ ル 烏丸 ち と せ の エ ン ジ ェ ル 隊 隊 業務 月報 ) was published on September 27, 2004 and contained illustrations by Shintarō.

The first publication of Galaxy Angel II was the novel of the same name, which was published chapter by chapter in Comptiq magazine from August 10, 2005 (issue 9/2005). On April 25, 2006, the novel book Galaxy Angel II: Zettai Ryōiki no Tobira 0 ( ギ ャ ラ ク シ ー エ ン ジ ェ ル II 絶 対 領域 の 扉 0 ) was published.
