Gallery Lang Vienna

Coordinates: 48 ° 12 ′ 19.2 ″  N , 16 ° 22 ′ 29 ″  E The Galerie Lang Wien was a gallery founded in 1976 at Seilerstätte 16 in Vienna's 1stdistrict, Inner City . The gallery was closed in March 2016.

The Seilerststätte 16 building was once an officers' mess of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and is located opposite the historic Ronacher Theater near the Ringstrasse .

The focus of the gallery activity is Austrian art after 1960. Austrian drawing has an important place in the exhibition program . Since 1978 Galerie Lang Wien has participated in around 100 international art fairs, including Art Basel (19 ×), Fiac Paris (14 ×), Art Frankfurt (15 ×), Kunst Wien and Viennafair (total of 13 ×), as well as Cologne , Düsseldorf, Montreal, Miami, Saarbrücken, Ghent and others. The Lang Wien gallery cooperates with the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Čunovo , Slovakia. Since 2002, Galerie Lang has organized a major exhibition in the Slovak Museum every year, including the exhibition "Austrian Art" on the occasion of Austria's EU Council Presidency in 2006.

The gallery has been working exclusively with the artists Stephan Hafner, Nina Maron , Katja Praschak, Markus Reiter and Daniel Maria Thurau since 1998 . Artists with whom Galerie Lang Wien has been working for around 20 years are Jürgen Messensee , Robert Kabas , Hannes Mlenek , Drago Prelog and Alois and Annerose Riedl .
