"Prelography" as a design technique

Prelog became known for a design technique developed in-house, known as "prelography". Prelography is a reproduction technique that can be used primarily in the field of printmaking. With the help of perforated templates, over which stiff acrylic paint is drawn with a spatula, a haptically perceptible, scale-like pattern is created. Prelography can be easily combined with other printmaking techniques such as lithography, offset, etching, chine-collé, wood linocut, screen printing (also a stencil technique). The first attempts at this special variant of the stencil technique began in the mid-1980s, but the Egyptians already knew how to cut certain shapes out of papyrus and reproduce them using colored pads.
