Gallium acetylacetonate is a chemical compound of gallium from the group of acetylacetonates .

Extraction and presentation

Gallium acetylacetonate can be obtained by reacting gallium hydroxide with acetylacetone .

properties

Gallium acetylacetonate is a white solid that is practically insoluble in water. The compound occurs in several crystal structures .

use

Gallium acetylacetonate is used in research on materials containing gallium. Gallium (III) oxide thin films can be produced with atomic layer epitaxy (ALE) by combining gallium acetylacetonate with water or ozone as a precursor. It can also be used for the synthesis of high purity gallium nitride nanowires and nano needles at low temperatures.
