The Galyschew Nunatak ( Russian Скала Галышева Skala Galyschewa , Norwegian Galyshewhamaren ) is a nunatak in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the middle Petermann chain of the Wohlthat massif, it rises at the south-western base of the Großer Schwarzhorn .
It was discovered and mapped during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . A new mapping based on aerial photographs and measurements was carried out during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) and again by Soviet scientists between 1960 and 1961. They named the Nunatak after the Soviet pilot Viktor Lvowitsch Galyschew (1892–1940).
