Gandra is a municipality and town in Paredes county in the Porto district in Portugal . The name is derived from Gandara , which describes an unproductive wasteland in which mostly wild plants grow.

history

On June 20, 1997, the community was elevated to Vila ( small town ) and on August 26, 2003 to Cidade ( town ), although it did not meet all the conditions for this, so an exception was made.
