Garešnica is a city and an administrative municipality in Croatia .

location

Garešnica is located in the Central Croatia region at the foot of the Moslavacka Gora Mountains , 17 km northeast of Kutina , on the important road connection Kutina - Veliki Zdenci - Virovitica . The surrounding area is rich in forests and allows hiking and cycling tours. In the vicinity of Kaniška Iva and the rivers Ilova and Toplica there is a large artificial lake (fish farm). Garešnica is also a well-known wine-growing region.

history

Garešnica is mentioned for the first time in 1527. The parish church of the Visitation of Mary, which was built in 1752 and in which much of the original inventory is still preserved, is worth seeing.
