Garry Mont cell Gilliam Jr. (* 26. November 1990 in Harrisburg , Pennsylvania ) is an American American football poker players. He plays the offensive tackle position , most recently for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Gilliam played college football at Pennsylvania State University for the Pennsylvania State Nittany Lions between 2009 and 2013. There he played the tight end position for the first three years before moving to the offensive tackle position in his senior year.

NFL

Seattle Seahawks

After Gilliam was not selected in the 2014 NFL Draft , the Seattle Seahawks signed him on May 10, 2014 . He made his NFL debut on September 4, 2014 as an offensive tackle in the game against the Green Bay Packers . In the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers on January 18, 2015, Gilliam caught a 19 yard touchdown pass from punter Jon Ryan after a fake field goal . It was his first trapped pass and first touchdown in the NFL.

After Justin Britt performed poorly as the right tackle and Alvin Bailey as the left guard, Gilliam was used as the right tackle and Britt was used as the left guard. Gilliam, who was previously the substitute left tackle, therefore trained on right tackle. For the 2016 season he switched back to the position of left tackle.

San Francisco 49ers

In April 2017, the San Francisco 49ers signed Gilliam. He was awarded a one-year contract valued at $ 2.2 million. In the 2017 season he played in the first eight games, one of them from the start, but was injured, after which he was placed on the Injured Reserve List on November 7, 2017 . On February 27, 2018, he received a two-year contract extension. In the 2018 season he played in all 16 games without making a start. He was released on February 13, 2019.
