Gary Todd
Gary Lynn Todd (* 1944 in Syracuse , New York ) is an American modern jazz bassist .
Live and act
Todd learned bass from Ralph Peña , Lester Remsen and Oliver Mitchell. After playing in the orchestras of Stan Kenton , Buddy Rich and Don Ellis , he moved to Germany. There he was a member of the order Peter Michael Hamel incurred group Between ( Hesse Between Music , 1974, silence over time , 1980), the quartet of Horst Jankowski and then in the group mirrors from Stephan Diez ; he also played in the Paul Kuhn Big Band and the orchestras of Hugo Strasser and Max Greger . He participated in numerous television and radio productions. On guest tours through almost all European countries, Australia, Japan and South Africa, he accompanied various artists such as B. Udo Juergens . He also played with Mel Tormé , Attila Zoller , Charly Antolini / Ack van Rooyen ( Jazzpower / Live ), Pony Poindexter and Tommy Rosenberg. He also recorded with Peter Alexander , Falco , Caterina Valente , Heidelinde Weis and Katja Ebstein . He has lived with his family in Lausham since the late 1970s .
