Gas delivery maximum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The gas production maximum is the point in time at which the natural gas production can no longer be increased due to physical factors . The time of the global gas production peak is forecast for the period 2015 to 2035.

Along with crude oil and coal, natural gas is an important fossil primary energy source . In contrast to oil and coal, the transport of natural gas is much more complicated and therefore more cost-intensive. The maximum production rate of conventional crude oil achieved in 2005 means that unconventional oils from biomass , oil sands , deep sea , polar regions , liquefied petroleum gas (NGL), natural gas and coal will continue to gain in importance.

The maximum extraction of natural gas is relevant because natural gas is the best substitute for the increasingly scarce oil products ( petrol , diesel , kerosene and sunfuels ). On the one hand with gas-powered vehicles and on the other hand through the synthetic conversion into synfuels . The problem here is the fact that both fossil fuels in total only reach their maximum production a short time (4–5 years) after the oil production peak. An extreme jump in prices will, however, be dampened by the energy-saving potential that exists, the large number of bioenergy plants built and subsidized around the world , the not yet reached maximum coal extraction and a possible medium-term recession .
