Gastón Faber , full name Gastón Faber Chevalier , (born April 21, 1996 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to his club, the 1.75 meter tall midfielder "Toti" Faber comes from the youth department of the first division club Danubio FC . There he has been a member of the first team since 2013 and made his debut on February 22, 2014 in a 2-0 win against Nacional Montevideo in the Primera División , when he was substituted on by coach Leonardo Ramos in the 72nd minute for Fabricio Formiliano . He played eleven games in the Primera División in the 2013/14 season and scored one goal. Danubio was Uruguayan champion at the end of the season. In the 2014/15 season he was used in seven first division games (no goal). During Apertura 2015 he was used four times (no goal) in the league and twice (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . At the beginning of February 2016, he moved to Racing Club de Montevideo on loan within the league . Both in the Clausura and in the 2016 season he remained without competitive appearances. After the end of the loan deal with Racing, he was loaned to the Italian club Foggia Calcio in January 2017 , for which he only played one third division game (no goal) until the end of the season.

National team

Faber celebrated his debut on May 29, 2012 in a 1-1 draw in the international friendly against Paraguay in the Uruguayan U-17 team, which was coached by Fabián Coito . He participated in the 2013 U-17 South American Championship in Argentina and the 2013 U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates . At the U-17 World Cup, he was used in five tournament games (no goal). According to the association, he played a total of 37 games (no goal) for the U-17s, according to the association's criteria, both games of the Celeste against national teams and against international club teams are counted. He has been a member of the Uruguayan U-20 team since at least March 2014 . With the Celeste coached by Fabián Coito, he played his first U-20 international match against Chile on April 15, 2014 when Mauro Arambarri came on in the 75th minute . He was invited again to the U-20 training course in mid-July 2014. On September 24, 2014, he was also used in the 1-0 win against Peru. He was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the U-20 South American Championship 2015 in Uruguay. So far (as of July 8, 2015) Faber has made 15 international matches (one goal).

On May 19, 2015, he was initially nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional U-22 squad at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto . After all, he was on the final squad and won the tournament with the Celeste.
