Gasthof Zum dreyen Schwanen
The former Gasthof Zum dreyen Schwanen or Drei Schwanen is a listed building in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 86682 .
The building at Große Burgstraße 1 in Weißenfels is a former inn . A chronicle from the first half of the 18th century reports that the inn was renovated in 1676. In 1715 a fire broke out in the building, which, among other things, almost destroyed the town hall of Weißenfels . A plaque on the building commemorates a meeting in August 1794 between Friedrich Schiller , Wilhelm von Humboldt and Christian Gottfried Körner , the father of Theodor Körner . The building's time as an inn ended in the middle of the 19th century after the iron merchant Gustav Nolle acquired the building. TheRelief plate with the three swans , which depicts the name of the inn, was preserved on the facade. The inscription A 1721 / R 1826 can be found in the keystone of the door arch under the relief . It is believed that this data suggests another new build and renovation. Another renovation in 1900 is mentioned in the monument register. Nowadays one speaks more of three swans . Today the building is used as a residential building; in GDR times there was an ice cream parlor in the house.
