Gaston Ragueneau

Gaston Ragueneau ( Adolphe Gaston Ragueneau ; born October 10, 1881 in Lyon , † July 14, 1978 in Draveil , Essonne ) was a French long-distance runner .

Life

From 1901 to 1906 he was national champion in cross-country skiing six times in a row .

At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1900 he was part of the French selection in the team race over 5000 m , which competed against a British-Australian team. There were five runners on both sides and Ragueneau finished fourth in the individual standings. In the overall standings, the British prevailed and relegated the French to second place.

In the five-mile run of the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens, Ragueneau did not reach the goal. Two years later he started at the Olympic Games in London in 1908 over 1500 m , over five miles and in the 3200 meter obstacle course , but was eliminated in all competitions in the preliminary round.
