Gaudenzio Godioz (born February 26, 1968 ) is a former Italian cross-country skier .

Career

Godioz started internationally for the first time at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1988 in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer . There he won the silver medal with the relay. He made his debut in the cross-country world cup in December 1991 in Silver Star , which he finished classically in 47th place over 10 km. In the same month he got his first World Cup points in Thunder Bay with the 13th place over 30 km freestyle. In December 1992 he achieved his best individual placement in the World Cup with sixth place in the 30 km freestyle in Val di Fiemme . In 1993 he won the Toblach – Cortina race over 38 km classic. In the 1994/95 season he achieved 11 places in the points, including three top ten placements, 15th place in the overall World Cup, his best overall result. He repeated the sixth place in Östersund over 30 km freestyle and also took third place with the relay in Nové Město and second with the relay in Sapporo . At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1995 in Thunder Bay, he ran on 33rd place over 10 km classic, on 14th place in the subsequent pursuit and on ninth place over 50 km freestyle. In the following season he came with seven results in the points to the 26th place in the overall World Cup. In January 1996 he was in Nové Město again third with the relay. In December 1996 he won second place with the relay in Brusson . He ran his 57th and last World Cup individual race in December 1999 in Sappada , which he finished in 63rd place in the skiathlon .
