The Gauliga Niederrhein 1937/38 was the fifth season of the Gauliga Niederrhein in football. The championship was held again this season in a round-robin tournament with ten teams. Fortuna Düsseldorf secured the Gaume Championship for the third time with a three point lead over Schwarz-Weiß Essen . The Düsseldorf team thus qualified for the German soccer championship 1937/38 , in which the team lost the semi-final against Hannover 96 just 3-2 after extra time. The game for 3rd place was won 4-2 in the replay against Hamburger SV . The relegation ranks were occupied by Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and BV Altenessen 06 . Rot-Weiss Essen and Westende Hamborn rose from the district leagues .
