The Gaur ( Scottish Gaelic : Abhainn Gaoire ) is a river in the Scottish highlands. It is located in the Council Area Perth and Kinross about 40 km west of Pitlochry .
The source of the River Gaur is Loch Laidon . The river leaves the lake at its eastern end near Rannoch Station and flows east through Rannoch Moor along its entire length . After about 2.5 km it flows through Loch Eigheach . At Bridge of Gaur , it joins Loch Rannoch after about eleven kilometers .
The river is a fishing area where mainly trout can be caught. The river is also used for rafting in summer .
