Loch Laidon is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands . It is located in Rannoch Moor on the border of the Council Areas Highland and Perth and Kinross . Loch Laidon has the typical elongated shape of a lake created by glaciers in the Ice Age . It is about eight kilometers long, but on average only about 800 m wide.

Loch Laidon is fed with water at its southwestern end by the rivers Abhain Bà (from Loch Bà ) and Allt Lochain Ghaineamhaich . It drains into the River Gaur at its eastern end near Rannoch Station , of which it is the source.

The banks of Loch Laidon are completely uninhabited. There are no other settlements in the immediate vicinity apart from the Rannoch Station . From Rannoch Station , the northwestern bank of Loch Laidon is accessible via a dirt road. All other sections of the bank are not accessible by roads or passable paths. Loch Laidon is a fishing area that mainly catches trout .
