Building system technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Building system technology is an interdisciplinary science for linking different technologies in connection with buildings. In particular, it combines building technology , building construction , building automation , energy efficiency , building management and electrical engineering . Since around 40% of energy is consumed in buildings, building system technology plays a key role in view of the political and social challenges posed by the increasing scarcity of fossil fuels , climate change and the energy transition initiated in Germany .

History of origin

Due to the energy requirements for buildings, these are becoming more and more complex. In 2002, it became necessary to link the technologies associated with buildings through the transition from the Heating Systems Ordinance and the Thermal Insulation Ordinance to the Energy Saving Ordinance (ENEV). For the evaluation of a building, only the final energy delivered at the building boundary was relevant for the evaluation of a building. With the increasing energetic requirements for buildings, such as the EU directive on the overall energy efficiency of buildings (2010/31 / EU), a link between building technology and the goal of a zero-energy house became imperative.

Sub-areas

The building system technology connects the systems available in the building, such as the building system technology , i.e. the entirety of all electrical devices and processes for measurement, control, regulation and optimization in the building with the aim of networking these trades across the board, the heating and ventilation technology, the sanitary technology and the components of the building envelope ( shading , solar collectors , access control, etc.). By integrating building simulations with CAD and building monitoring , the aim of building system technology is to operate buildings efficiently by networking the individual technologies.

Education

Building system technology is offered at universities and technical colleges. There are also vocational colleges that combine the advanced technical college entrance qualification with a focus on building systems technology. At the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences , the industrial engineering course is linked to building system technology and offered as a course in industrial engineering - energy and buildings in Hagen and Lüdenscheid . The training and part-time variant of the course is offered at the vocational training center of the South Westphalia Chamber of Crafts in Arnsberg.

Occupational fields

The occupational fields of building system technology are diverse and include activities for the energy-efficient and holistic application of the various energy and building technologies at global energy suppliers , in planning offices , within large companies in building management, in municipal organizations, in the trades and in the service sector.
