Gebhard Bucher

Gebhard Bucher (born October 18, 1954 in Bad Häring ; † July 6, 2013 in Wiesbaden ) was an Austrian restaurateur who ran several restaurants in the Rhine-Main area together with Roland Kuffler and Gerd Käfer . He died of carbon dioxide poisoning while transporting dry ice .

Life

Bucher completed an apprenticeship as a restaurant specialist at the Hotel Grauer Bär in Innsbruck and then went abroad: Hotel The President in Johannisburg, Intercontinental Hotels in London and Geneva, Bayerischer Hof in Munich. In Heidelberg he completed specialist training as a hotel manager and then worked in the F&B management of large hotels in the Rhine-Main area. From 1990 he worked as director in the Kurhaus Gastronomie Wiesbaden, later also as managing director. With his partners Gerd Käfer and Roland Kuffler , he then opened further businesses in the Rhine-Main area and had over 580 employees.
