history

On February 7th, 1894 the company "Hermann Heller trading business and production of protected articles and watchmaking tools" was founded by the 25-year-old Hermann Heller (1869–1931). The workforce initially consisted of seven journeymen and three apprentices. They produced vices, chimney tops, fans and spiral staircases.

The company entered mechanical engineering in 1898 with the manufacture of cold circular sawing machines for sawing metals and the manufacture of saw blade sharpening machines and thread cutting devices. The original company was founded on January 5, 1900 by the "Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik GmbH ”, founded by the brothers Ernst (1866–1936) and Hermann Heller, replaced. In 1913, HELLER was one of the first industrial companies in Germany to set up its own training workshop.

In 1940 the first milling machines for crankshaft machining were manufactured, a segment in which Heller still offers solutions for the automotive industry today. In 1970 the plants in England and Brazil are founded. The USA plant in Detroit followed in 1980. In the year 2000 the certifications according to ISO 9001, QS 9000, TES and VDA 6.4 take place. In the same year, the production capacity of the plant in the USA doubled and Heller introduced a new internal cylindrical milling machine for crankshaft machining.

In 2007, the introduction of the ModuleLine manufacturing system and the H series were presented at the EMO machine tool trade fair in Hanover. This was followed in 2009 by the introduction of the F series for simultaneous 5-axis machining and in 2010 the presentation of bevel gear machining on 5-axis machining centers of the MCH-C and F series. The new C series was presented to the public for the first time at the EMO in Hanover in 2011 . In 2013, together with Daimler, Heller received the German Innovation Prize for Climate and Environment (IKU) for the series-ready thermal spraying process CBC (CylinderBoreCoating), which expands the process chain in crankcase production . The new production plant in China was opened in the same year.

Products

  • H series: Individually configurable 4-axis horizontal machining centers for machining a wide range of parts and materials.
  • F series: 5-axis machining centers that set standards in 5-sided and 5-axis simultaneous machining. Available in two versions: as a workshop machine for individual part production, as a production machine with a pallet changer for series production.
  • Series C: 5-axis machining centers with cutting performance for combined milling and turning tasks. For maximum flexibility of use in complete machining.
  • Flexible manufacturing systems: 4- and 5-axis machining modules with direct loading as well as special and process machines for manufacturing that can be linked to form fully automated manufacturing systems.
  • RFK / DRZ / RFN series: Special solutions for crankshaft and camshaft machining
  • CBC CylinderBoreCoating: Turnkey solutions for crankcases
  • CNC ProfiTrainer: Multiple award-winning, mobile training machine, consisting of original industrial components, in 3 to 5-axis versions.

structure

Heller has production sites around the world, such as B. in Germany, England , Brazil , USA and China . Nürtingen-based Heller Services GmbH is a 100% subsidiary, with a focus on services and training. In addition, there are branches and agencies in all markets relevant for Heller worldwide.

Heller is represented in Asia, for example through the technology center founded in 2009 and the branch in Pune, India, founded in 2010, and branches in Shanghai and Beijing . The opening of the fifth production plant of the HELLER Group in Changzhou, China, took place in October 2013 . This means that machining centers can now also be planned, equipped and delivered in China as required. This offer is supplemented by the possibility of repairing, rebuilding or overhauling machines.
