The memorial stone Old Trade Union House in Hanover commemorates April 1, 1933 , when the National Socialists attacked the trade union house of the General German Trade Union Confederation (today, as of 08/2014: Tiedthof ) in order to smash the Hanover workers' movement . The memorial in front of the building at Goseriede 4 in the Mitte district also serves as a memorial and meeting place to commemorate other victims of violence , for example for events organized by the ver.di union on Anti-War Day .

After the redesign of the Goseriede square, the DGB district of Hanover inaugurated a new, modified memorial stone on August 13, 2014, this time with a raised inscription plaque that can be read in the direction of the old trade union building.
