action

Marc ( Peter Maffay ), his contentious son Jan ( Roman Knižka ) and his friends Hardy ( Simon Licht ), Thomas ( Heikko Deutschmann ) and Jennifer ( Claudine Wilde ) are trapped in Yemen . Marc, who has lived in Yemen for years and knows the country, the locals and the dangers, wants to accompany the young people on a motorcycle tour through the desert - and regain his son's trust. But armed warriors initially demand a "toll" of 1,000 dollars from the tourists. They later take the Germans hostage and demand a ransom of ten million dollars from the government. While Marc is negotiating with the warriors in captivity for days, the German embassy is feverishly looking for a solution ...

criticism

"Since the film makes a series of real hostages in the country usable for entertainment purposes, the hook of the story proves to be just as questionable as the ill-considered development of the plot."
